Freshman Year is DONE!!!!!!!!

Well everyone,
I am done with my first year of college! It's hard to believe it's over with! I have grown so much and have learned quite a lot about myself more than anything.

I have learned several things:

1.) You can't over work yourself it won't turn out well
Passing out because you had a panic attack
Lower grades than what you wanted
Lack of sleep helps no one!
My first year of college I overworked myself WAY TOO MUCH with my academics. Now don't get me wrong, studying and caring about your grades is a WONDERFUL thing, but as a friend of mine, Mrs. Tabithia Ross, told me several times "you can't eat an elephant in one bite. You have to take it little by little." Which she's right I mean you can't study for HOURS on end everyday without a break it's impossible! So be careful of that and make sure you take care of yourself.

2.) EAT RIGHT! EAT RIGHT! EAT. RIGHT!
You'll thank me later. This can affect you and your health in the long run. As you get                           older it becomes more and more important to eat right. It'll help against certain diseases,
also it will help with keeping your bones nice and strong.

3.) Have a support group. They help tremendously
I have Campus Outreach and several other support groups (will talk about those later)

4.) Overall trust in GOD!
                   Proverbs 3:5-6 and Jeremiah 29:11
Some good study habits are:
  1. Keep up with homework
  2. Make a plan
  3. Studying in shifts (set a time limit)
  4. Use note cards
  5. Put the information in your own words
  6. TAKE A BREAK
  7. If you are unsure of an assignment or dates that things are due make sure to ask your professor
If you have any other good study habits let me know! I would love to read them! (Comment below)

Another awesome aspect of my first year of college is Campus Outreach at Georgia Southern University.

They have been such an amazing support group for me and literally have been like family to me. I have no clue where I would be without them in my life. I am so blessed to say that they are apart of my life and my school career.

Because God put them into my life, I am now and forever will be completely different and completely blessed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is my best friend, Beth Jenkins (check her out at www.wanderingforevermore.com) she is amazing and such an awesome blogger. She is always there to help me if I get stuck on a blog post or if I get stuck in life. There have been nights where she has gotten a late night text because I needed someone. She's always been there especially during my freshman year of college. We have been best friends since my sophomore year of high school. In January of my sophomore year of high school, God decided that we needed to become best friends, and I couldn't be anymore blessed to have someone like her in my life. She is a huge supporter in my life and let's me know if something isn't right or needs changing. I am very blessed to have Beth Jenkins as my best friend.

Like I mentioned in the beginning, it's always good to have a support group or two. I have many support groups for many different parts of my life. Like Campus Outreach is one of my support groups. Another one of my support groups, the East Georgia State College Academic Center for Excellence (otherwise called the ACE Center). It's a tutoring place at the college I go to for help with homework, projects...etc the list goes on and on. The tutors in the ACE are some of the funniest, caring, loving, encouraging people I've ever had in my life. Every time I go in there (everyday more than likely) I always come out with a smile on my face no matter how frustrated I am. They have been the HUGEST help with my math classes. There are two tutors in particular (Natalie and Mrs. Tabithia, she is mentioned above) that lift my spirits every day. I am so blessed to call them two of my best friends. Sorry I don't have a picture of the ACE or the tutors to put on here.

All in all I have learned valuable lessons and have grown tremendously my freshman year and can't wait for what sophomore year has in store.

Have a great summer everyone,

God bless,

Lecie Fitzner
