Campus Outreach and GSU Football

Who says God and football don't mix? Campus Outreach and GSU football mix well. I love Campus Outreach and I love college football. No matter what we are doing or where we are...if we are together then we are surrounded by love and Christ. It's football season and it's Eagle time, but every day and all day long 365 days a year 24/7 it's GOD's time. We can mix Christ and football as long as we are worshiping and honoring Him and bringing Him glory.
This picture is of my friend Katie.
She is amazing and a very awesome person. She loves the Lord and is a part of Campus Outreach. We do a women's prayer group in Statesboro and we love Georgia Southern. We have become so close so fast and I know that God will bless our friendship with each other. I know I can go to her about anything and she will always be able to cheer me up and give me encouraging words. Every time I see her she has a smile on her face and when we are together it's a great time. The meetings on Wednesday nights are awesome with this chick.
This is my awesome friend Rachel.
She is the one who invited me to join Campus Outreach and welcomed me into the group. Our friendship started with a simple email. Now she is one of my closest friends that I have. She loves the Lord and loves football. I'm so glad God brought us together and allowed us to become friends. She is my "sister in Christ" and I am so grateful for that too. God has blessed my life with her, Katie, Lindsey....and so many others (over 100 people in Campus Outreach). She is always there for me doesn't matter if I need someone to talk to or if I need someone to pray for/with me. She can make me laugh and we can have fun especially at the football games.
This is the very first game two weeks ago.
So to finish up my post........Campus Outreach and football came mix!!! We can have fun and still show others the love of Christ through our actions and our words. I am so thankful for Campus Outreach and so thankful for the people within the organization because they are strengthen my faith because God blessed me with them. Every time I am around them I know I am surrounded by the love of Christ. No one is perfect and that's not what I'm saying, but what I am saying is that they are willing to talk about Christ wherever and whenever.
Proverbs 17:17 says "A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born of a time of adversity." Christ certainly blessed me with some amazing people and also blessed me with the love of His Son and His grace. I am thankful for that!

13 Years Ago Today---------Tragic Hit American Soil

September 11, 2001 started off as any normal work/school day for America. However, it turn out to be very very different. In New York City, the twin towers and the people in them were not expecting two hijacked plains to crash through them killing thousands and injuring thousands. Families were torn apart losing loved ones either because of the crashes or because of them being firemen, people in the ambulance, policemen......etc whatever they may be. One thing that us as Americans that we need to remember is that GOD HAS YET TO LEAVE US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He didn't leave us then and He will NOT leave us now or EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He will never leave us or forsake us & we need to just remember that and draw close to Him. When I think of today I think of Alan Jackson's song
"Where Were You When The World Stop Turning."
"Where were you when the world stopped turning
That September day?
Out in the yard
With your wife and children
Workin' on some stage in LA?
Did you stand there in shock
At the sight of that black smoke
Rising against that blue sky?
Did you shout out in anger
And fear for your neighbor
Or did you just sit down and cry?
Did you weep for the children
Who lost their dear loved ones
Or pray for the ones who don't know?
Did you rejoice for the people
Who walked from the rubble
And sob for the ones left below?
Did you burst out in pride
For the red, white, and blue
And the heroes who died
Just doing what they do?
Did you look up to Heaven
For some kind of answer
And look at yourself
And what really matters?
I'm just a singer of simple songs
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I could
Tell you the difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith, hope and love are some good things He gave us
And the greatest is love
Where were you when the world stopped turning
That September day?
Teaching a class full of innocent children
Driving down some cold interstate?
Did you feel guilty
Cause you're a survivor
In a crowded room did you feel alone?
Did you call up your mother and tell her you love her
Did you dust off that Bible at home?
Did you open your eyes, hope it never happened
Or close your eyes and not go to sleep?
Did you notice the sunset the first time in ages
Or speak to some stranger on the street?
Did you lay down at night and think of tomorrow
Go out and buy you a gun?
Did you turn off that violent old movie you're watching
And turn on I Love Lucy reruns?
Did you go to the church and hold hands with some stranger
Stand in line and give your own blood?
Did you just stay home and cling tight to your family
Thank God you had somebody to love?
I'm just a singer of simple songs
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I could
Tell you the difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith, hope and love are some good things He gave us
And the greatest is love
I'm just a singer of simple songs
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I could
Tell you the difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith, hope and love are some good things He gave us
And the greatest is love
Where were you when the world stopped turning
That September day"

That's the song right there!!! So today love your families like you've never loved them before because some one has a broken family because of 13 years ago today!!!!!!!!!!

Beginning of College

Well I am starting my second month of being a college freshmen, and what a two months it has been. I know it doesn't sound like much, but a ton can happen within two months of school......like my first Georgia Southern football game or my first Campus Outreach meeting. I just had an English (Composition 2) project due with a partner. It was a power point presentation over a story we had read we chose The Rocking Horse Winner by D.H. Lawrence. We presented Tuesday and made a 103 and that's a HUGE deal especially to me. Some things in college I can do without like for example: test, quizzes, homework.....etc.
This was the other day in my English class right before it started. There's nothing like Literature with a strawberry smoothie to start off your afternoon.
Tuesdays and Thursdays are my English class days from 1:45-3:00pm you think that sounds long but really that class flies by. My Professor is Dr. Denton and she's pretty awesome and very funny. She is very smart and knows how to relate a story written in the 1500's to modern times now. Also Dr. Denton is willing to help us in our writing and show us how to make our writing even better. Which is important for me because of my dream of wanting to be a journalist when I graduate. This semester of English will be an excellent one with Dr. Denton.
This is my new friend Lindsey Johnson.
She is so funny and very cool and so funny. She loves the Lord and Disney channel (long story), but she also loves to laugh which is good too. I am so glad I have someone like her who will cheer me up and can make me laugh but also be there when I need someone. We have Sociology class together (which we have today at 1:30) and we also do Campus Outreach together (I'll get to that in a minute). We laugh at the most random things and always jam out in her car to her music that she is obsessed with. She is just so amazing and a wonderful friend I am so glad God let us meet and become friends.
Now to talk about Campus Outreach.
Campus Outreach is an organization at Georgia Southern University and many other colleges (Including Georgia College and State University and in Augusta). I have met so many people through this organization and I mean some really awesome people! I am so glad I have these people in my life. There's this one girl named Rachel (I don't have a picture with her yet). She is so amazing and she loves the Lord I can tell. She has let me pour my heart out to her and she prayed with me last Sunday night. She is always there if I need someone to talk to or someone to pray with. There are so many other people I could tell you about like Kelly, Morgan, Kelsey, Katie, Ashley, Taylor, Erica..etc I mean I've met SO many people, but as I get to know them better I will tell y'all more about them.
This is a picture from the Georgia Southern football game last Saturday night. We won 83 to 9! I am not even kidding!! So it wasn't much of a game but it was a bunch of fun!!! It was HOT when we first got there and I mean HOT like maybe 99 degrees or something. When the sun went down later on that night it cooled off some but not much. Georgia Southern played Savannah State it was so much fun cheering on the GSU Eagles. I am still a Georgia Bulldawg fan (Univeristy of Georgia Bulldawgs)! Georgia Southern comes in second place right now might change one day. I went with Lindsey and some other people and we had a ton of fun (check out my previous post entitled "My FIRST Georgia Southern University Football Game")

To finish this post I have to say that even though I am not where I really want to be; I know that God has a plan for me and my life. If you are wondering I am not going to Georgia Southern for college it's WAY TOO BIG for this southern girl! I'm not going to say where I am going because I'm just not going to so no offense to anyone. I am having to keep Jeremiah 29:11 in my head along with Proverbs 3:5-6!! I have to trust God even though I don't understand what He is doing. He put all these people in my life for a reason and I'm learning now what those reasons are.
So until next time,
God bless ya!

My FIRST Georgia Southern University Football Game

This past Saturday was my very FIRST Georgia Southern University football game!!! It was very VERY fun as well!!!! I had so much fun with my new friends and cheering on the eagles.
This girl is named Morgan!!!
She is so amazing and so sweet. I am so glad to have her in my life and Saturday was SO much fun with her. We are able to laugh at our own silly ways and personalities and we LOVE them eagles (although I am a Georgia Bulldawg fan at heart). I am so glad I was able to experience my first game of the season with such a special girl oh and be able to crash at her house and spend the night.
Football Tip #1- NEVER wear wedge heels to a football game!!!!!! I have blisters to spare from doing just that so yeah!!!
Football Tip #2- ALWAYS wear something cool because it will be hot!! I was sweating bad until the sun went down because my dress was hot on me!
Final Football Tip #3- ALWAYS have fun!!! I had a blast and can't wait for many more to come!
These two girls are Lindsey and Kelsey.
They live with Morgan (picture above) and are two amazing girls. Lindsey is almost just like me haha that's scary. Kelsey is so sweet and so funny because of just her personality. The football game with these two girls and Morgan was so much fun and I met a ton of other people as well.
I am glad I was able to have experienced my first Georgia Southern game with those three girls and so many others there with us. It was a very good game and we won 83 to 9 against Savannah State. I'm not lying either that was the final score!!! GO EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (However my heart is fully to the Georgia Bulldawgs).
